GORDON, BLOOMBERG \u2014 AUGUST 2, 2024<\/p>\n<p>Volunteers from a synagogue in Boston recently beamed in to a restaurant in Georgia to help people obtain the IDs they need to work and vote, an ongoing effort coordinated by the nonpartisan, nonprofit VoteRiders. On Monday night, the same organization had 220 people from all over the country on a Zoom, sending 250,000 texts to voters in Arizona on the eve of the state\u2019s primary&#8230;<\/p>\n<p class=\"media-ui-Paragraph_text-SqIsdNjh0t0- paywall\" data-component=\"paragraph\">\u201cVolunteering is a socioeconomic privilege, and the cost of doing so is dramatically lowered when you don\u2019t have to travel across the country,\u201d says VoteRiders CEO Lauren Kunis, 42. But, she cautioned, \u201cvirtual platforms are one tool in our toolbox.
