\"Mac<\/a><\/p>\n

Mac was holding up a sign outside a McDonald\u2019s when VoteRiders\u2019 Florida Voter ID Coalition Coordinator Jazlyn Gallego<\/a> approached him. Reading his sign and learning that Mac was houseless, Jazlyn wondered if he was in need of voter ID. She handed him a card that included information on how VoteRiders could help him<\/a> get one.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

People like Mac, without an ID or a permanent address, often can\u2019t access social security benefits and other life-saving services like housing and employment assistance. As it turned out,\u00a0<\/span>Mac had spent four and a half years trying to get an ID. It was one of the biggest hurdles he faced on his road to stability.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Learning this, Jazlyn and VoteRiders\u2019 Florida organizer Eli Garcia<\/a> worked quickly to help Mac <\/span>secure his long-awaited ID.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/h3>\n

\u201cI\u2019m starting to feel like I\u2019m heading in the right direction,\u201d Mac wrote to Eli. \u201cFour and a half years is a long time to get to this point and I owe it all to you and Jazlyn. I was lucky to have her approach me holding a sign outside McDonald\u2019s. God sent me not one but two Angels to guide me back into the light.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

For Jazlyn and Eli, this was a big reminder that sometimes it\u2019s hard to<\/span> know who needs help, so it\u2019s always worth asking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
